My Kiwanis Moment
Here is a moment that I experienced this past Summer.
Our Club sponsors four two week Music Camps during the Summer. On the last Friday of each Camp the children give a small concert and invite parents, grandparents etc to attend.
At one of these concerts a grandmother came up to me and thanked me for what the Kiwanis Club was doing. Her grandson, who was very shy, was visiting here and she decided that she would enrol him in one of the Camps, not knowing if he would even want to attend. She told me that after the first day he just couldn't wait to go back, even though he had had no previous music instructions.
He choose to study guitar and at the concert played a song that he had learnt. She was so thankful and pleased to see him perform before an audience and especially to see how he had gotten over some of his shyness. She said to me, "How lucky our community is, to have a Service Organization that provides such a great Summer Camp for children".
