Kiwanis One Day: April 5th, 2008
Service Project/Program

Kiwanis International has a program in place where they are encouraging all Kiwanis Clubs worldwide to be involved in a service project/program on Saturday, April 5, 2008. We are asking everyone to participate and have 100% of our clubs in all 30 of our divisions involved. We encourage you to have your SLP Clubs involved also.

  • Each Lt. Governor, at their first Division Council Meeting, asks their Presidents to come up with a Club/Division Service Project/Program in their community. In divisions where it is impossible to come together as one, ask each club to have a service project/program in their community on that date.
  • The service project/program can be a special Children’s or Seniors Home Visit, delivery of meals to those shut in, cleanup in their Community Park or streets or working on a program with one of our Service Leadership Youth Groups.

  • At our Mid-Winter Board Meeting, each Lt. Governor will provide the details of their April 5, 2008 Service Project/Program. This information will be provided to Kiwanis International and our Marketing firm to gain some media coverage. This announcement will be provided to all Lt. Governors in E. C. & C. for the purpose of using it with their own local Newspapers/TV Stations.

  • It will be interesting to see the response we receive to have 8,700 plus Kiwanis Members in 30 Divisions from 17 Countries all, on the same day, providing a service to their community. It will onl y happen if we all agree to do this together.

  • Keep it simple, make it a service not fundraising, and organize a project/program that assists children, the elderly or the less fortunate of your community. Encourage your Youth Clubs to be involved if they are in your area.
