My Kiwanis Moment

Wearing a Kiwanis shirt made my moment. I was standing in line at one of our super markets, when a gentlemen notice my Kiwanis shirt.

We begin to talk about shopping on the weekend. He then asked what is significant about wearing the Kiwanis shirt. I explained that the Kiwanis clubs were sponsoring and hosting a mini fair for the Children’s Emergency Home. He wanted to know who was responsible for financing the children if they need to eat or play a game as that is a home for children whose parents cannot afford to care for them. I further explained we used our personal funds and purchase food item for a minimum of three (3) children and finance a game once they ask.

He was very impressed and gave me a cash donation insisting I award myself for serving above self.

Finally for this first quarter our club received a donation of B$3,000.00 cash from one of the Corporate Entity. The Manager said he has confidant in Kiwanis because Kiwanians serve above self.
