Governor Janet Atkinson

October 1, 2011

.

Welcome to the 2011-2012 Kiwanis year. My year as Governor Elect and then Governor Designate was a wonderful opportunity to learn and to grow. There was much planning and preparation with the focus on achieving the goals of the Clubs, District and Kiwanis International.

The goals of Eastern Canada and the Caribbean this year are on: launching the ELIMINATE PROJECT at the District convention in Barbados in May, 2012, planning for the sustainability of our district by working with our Board of Trustees to create strong, visible leadership and a vision for the future, and Service, Leadership and Growth. A more detailed outline of these goals are found here.

Underlying our district’s goals are the positive, supportive relationships that create the Kiwanis community. Kiwanis members connect to our communities and make a difference. We are passionate about causes, have incredible skills and expertise and we want our Kiwanis clubs to reflect our Kiwanis values and be relevant to the children, families and the community in which we live.

My team consists of every single Kiwanis member in our District. I welcome you all to this coming year and it is my hope that you will work with your club, division, district and KI and by Serving with Passion make a difference to the children of the world.

I very much look forward to working with you this the coming year.

With warm Kiwanis regards,

Janet Atkinson Des Roches
